Jaz Burgess is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who specializes in supporting high-capacity individuals navigating anxiety, identity confusion, and the pressures of constantly showing up for others. She is particularly passionate about working with leaders, eldest daughters, and individuals who have spent much of their lives over-functioning—often prioritizing others’ needs while losing connection with their own voice, values, and sense of self.
Jaz earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Her approach to therapy is warm, grounding, and deeply processing-focused, creating a space where clients can slow down, explore their inner world, and begin to reconnect with themselves more authentically. While compassionate and supportive, Jaz is also gently challenging when needed, helping clients recognize patterns that keep them stuck and move toward meaningful change.
Her clinical work integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based interventions to help clients build greater self-awareness, emotional flexibility, and alignment with their personal values. Drawing from her background in yoga and holistic wellness, Jaz also incorporates mind–body awareness into the therapeutic process. For clients who desire it, she is able to integrate faith into sessions as part of a holistic approach to healing.
In addition to working with individuals experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, and identity exploration, Jaz also works with couples navigating conflict, communication challenges, and relationship transitions. She is especially passionate about supporting Black women and high-achieving individuals who are seeking a deeper sense of balance, clarity, and connection in their lives.
Jaz offers in-person sessions in Frisco and virtual sessions throughout Texas.
