Emma Coffey is an EMDR Trained Licensed Professional Counselor. She obtained her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Maine. Utilizing a cognitive behavioral approach, Emma believes the power of change originates from our thoughts and behaviors. Her goal as a counselor is to work collaboratively with the client in movement toward empowerment and healing while providing a safe and trusting space to grow. Emma is passionate about working with adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, low self-worth, LGBTQIA+, life transitions, relational issues, and trauma. Emma believes treatment is never a one-size fits all and ensures each client is met with individually modified care that best fits their needs and differing identities. Emma works from a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) orientation, as well as incorporating philosophies from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). She believes counseling can be a validating space for overcoming life’s challenges and lead to a greater sense of self-awareness, meaning and purpose.
