Emily May (she/her/hers) is an LPC-Associate, supervised by Hannah Grossman, LPC-S. She earned her B.S. in Human Development and Family Science from the University of North Texas, with a concentration in Individual Development Across the Lifespan and a minor in Counseling. She earned her M.S. in Counseling and Development with a focus in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Woman’s University. Emily is licensed in the state of Texas to provide in-person and virtual counseling services for individual adults, teens 14+, couples, families, and groups.
Emily supports clients navigating a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, career development, adjustment and life transitions, identity and relational issues, addictions, and challenges in family systems. Her areas of specialization include grief and bereavement, processing chronic illness, expressive arts in counseling, and addressing family-of-origin issues. She integrates evidence-based approaches such as CBT, mindfulness, and somatic awareness to help address each client’s unique needs and goals.
As a person-centered counselor, Emily brings her own authenticity and genuineness to every session, and prioritizes a warm, safe, and nonjudgmental counseling space. She invites her clients to explore their experiences at their own pace, growing toward self-awareness, self-compassion, and overall wellness. She believes the therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of the counseling process, and supports her clients in showing up simply as themselves. With deep
