Rachel Ellison is a Graduate Level Intern pursuing a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas, where she also completed her Bachelor’s in Rehabilitation Studies with a double minor in Psychology and Sociology. Rachel is trained in working with adults, couples, and families. She is passionate about working with a wide variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, career concerns, low self-esteem, chronic illness, and women’s issues.
Rachel sees her role in counseling as a collaborator on your journey toward positive change and achieving your personal goals. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), she encourages you to explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact and how your experiences have shaped these patterns. She guides you in identifying and shifting unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior, helping you cultivate new, supportive ways of being that enhance your overall wellness. Rachel believes that while your thoughts greatly influence your emotions and actions, you hold the power to reshape them and create new meaning.
Rachel believes that, before all this, building a strong therapeutic alliance is essential. She strives to create a warm, inviting, and nonjudgmental space where you feel safe and supported. Above all, Rachel aims to foster an environment of warmth, kindness, and humor, where you can explore your experiences, make meaning, and find fulfillment in your life.
