Payton is a graduate-level intern currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas in Denton. She previously received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Spanish from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Payton is dedicated to supporting adults, couples, and families through their unique journeys and concerns, including grief and bereavement, stress management, relationship and communication dynamics, depression, anxiety, women’s issues, self-esteem, self-compassion, and coping with major life changes.
Grounded in Adlerian theory, Payton views clients as being shaped by their life experiences and as active agents in their own growth. As a therapist, she is fully committed to empowering clients in growing their sense of belonging and purpose. Payton is also dedicated to creating a collaborative therapeutic space that feels both safe and inviting. Her sessions are characterized by empathy, active listening, warmth, an open-minded approach, and a touch of good humor to provide genuine support and insight.
