
Melissa Manila is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Oklahoma State University, and she has a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas. Melissa utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), to assist her clients with understanding how their thoughts and behaviors impact their emotional experience. She also utilizes techniques from other therapies, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT).
During the counseling process, Melissa will work with you to set counseling goals and create a treatment plan that best fits your needs. She believes in the importance of a collaborative counseling relationship, and works to create an empathetic and nonjudgmental environment in the counseling room. Melissa has previously worked with clients at a university counseling clinic, and a domestic violence and sexual assault outreach center. She specializes in working with clients that experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma, and she is trained to work with both adolescent and adult clients.
