Melissa Manila is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Oklahoma State University and her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas. Before entering private practice, she gained clinical experience in a university counseling clinic and a domestic violence and sexual assault outreach center. Melissa specializes in working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
Melissa believes that therapy should be both supportive and effective. Her goal is to provide a space where you feel understood while also helping you make meaningful changes in your life. Together, you’ll identify the patterns that are keeping you stuck, examine the beliefs and habits that maintain them, and develop practical skills to create lasting change. She takes an active, collaborative approach, drawing from evidence-based therapies to tailor treatment to your unique goals, strengths, and challenges.
Her work is grounded in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) for OCD. She also integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)*, using the approaches that best fit your needs and goals.
*Greer & Associates does not offer DBT comprehensive services, but rather assimilates DBT-informed skills into session with clients.
