Kelly is a Graduate Level Intern currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the Texas Woman’s University in Denton. Previously, she has attended the University of North Texas where she received her Bachelor’s in Psychology and minor in counseling. Kelly’s aspirations relating to the field of counseling is helping adults to flourish in their growth, particularly individuals in marginalized populations. She wants to destigmatize the discussion of mental health, make it more accessible, and advocate for individuals to have a voice to express.
Kelly envisions her role in counseling as a translator- helping clients to gain more understanding of themselves to convey their thoughts and emotions as they navigate through their self-exploration. Kelly utilizes a person-centered approach, so she whole-heartedly believes that each individual has the answer within themselves. She works to provide clients a safe and non judgmental environment in which they can be vulnerable so that they can pull those insightful perspectives and solutions to the surface for them to become the most authentic, genuine version of themselves. She believes that it is never too late to heal.
