Katie Fimbrez, Master’s Level Intern

Katie Fimbrez is a Master’s-Level Intern who is currently pursuing her degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas. She was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas and received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Texas A&M University at College Station. Katie is passionate about working with adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, life transitions, interpersonal conflicts, multicultural concerns, and spiritual concerns. She believes people’s lives are meaningful and unique, therefore a holistic look is needed to properly identify concerns. Her theoretical orientation is Adlerian which views people from a holistic perspective, considering all parts of the “self”, including mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, and relational wellbeing. She believes counseling is a collaborative relationship that can help one gain self-awareness, encouragement, and a healthier perspective on life. Katie is trained in play therapy as well as adult counseling.
