Emma Coffey is an LPC-Associate, supervised by Dr. Michele Greer, LPC-S. She obtained her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Maine. Utilizing a cognitive behavioral approach, Emma believes the power of change originates from our thoughts and behaviors. Her goal as a counselor is to work collaboratively with the client in movement toward empowerment and healing while providing a safe and trusting space to grow. Emma is passionate about working with adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, low self-worth, LGBTQIA+, life transitions, relational issues, and trauma. Emma believes treatment is never a one-size fits all and ensures each client is met with individually modified care that best fits their needs and differing identities. Emma works from a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) orientation, as well as incorporating philosophies from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). She believes counseling can be a validating space for overcoming life’s challenges and lead to a greater sense of self-awareness, meaning and purpose.
